Improve your riding skills in sunny Portugal! You ride several well-trained horses, and of course you get to ride a Lusitano - the iconic Portuguese breed. Twice a day you will have lessons in dressage, jumping or working equitation, tailored to your preference and level, from beginner to advanced. Lessons are taught in English by experienced instructors and the horses can do everything; from Spanish passes and canter changes to appuyements and dodges. In between, relax by the pool (May to October), go for a walk in the surroundings or watch others' lessons. All delicious meals are included!

This trip is all about riding various well-trained horses, with of course a ride on a Lusitano. What I personally liked best? Riding a really well-trained horse teaches you so much: when I was back on my own horse at home, I immediately noticed the difference in feel and technique. Outside rides (walk only) are also possible and offer a relaxing way to enjoy the surroundings.

Thursday

You usually arrive on Thursday. There are several ways to get to the accommodation: by rental car, by taxi from Lisbon airport, or as I did: by train to Abrantes and picked up by car from there. Need help arranging transport? Feel free to let me know! It's best to arrive around 15:00, so you can have your first lesson right away.

Friday

Today you will have a morning and afternoon lesson. The exact times and type of lesson (dressage, jumping, hacking, etc.) will be agreed with the instructor the evening before. Naturally, breakfast, lunch and dinner are included, with options for vegetarians and other dietary requirements.

Saturday

Sunday

No more lessons are scheduled today - after one last night's sleep, it's time to say goodbye. Did you arrive after 16:00 on Thursday and missed a class? Then you can make up your fifth lesson this morning by mutual agreement. Would you rather stay a bit longer and not go straight home? No problem! Send me a message and I will see what is possible

Accommodation

You will sleep in a spacious room with private bathroom, wifi and TV. From your room it is a 5-10 minute walk to the stables - be careful, it is a hill! You walk down to your class first and up again afterwards.
